The Golden Compass is a great story. It's filled to the brim with loads of action and mystery which really keeps on the edge of your seat. It's all about Lyra's journey after her friend Roger was kidnapped by the Gobblers. Along her journey she carries with her an alethiometer which tells the answer to any question if one knows how to use it. I would defiantly recommend this book to anyone.
