The Wierdo by Theodore Taylor

The daughter of a hunter by the name of Samantha runs into the forest, chasing her uncle's dog. After running for what seemed like an eternity, she gave up. Noticing it was getting dark, she cleaned out a hollow tree trunk and went to sleep. After waking up, she once again went in search of her dog. After a while, she meets a boy by the name of Chip Clewt. He is the son of the nearby spillway's control man, John Clewt. He lives in the swamp and knows it like the back of his hand. He drives Samantha to the nearby store where she calls her mom to pick her up.

This story is about how Chip and Sam try to extend the hunting ban in place on the Powhatan Swamp, now known as the Great Dismal swamp. The problem is, they both live in a community of hunters. This book tells of their fight to help lengthen the ban. This is a great book and I would recommend it to just about everyone. If you reed this, I hope you enjoy it.

Untill next time,
The Trojan Book Master
