Wild Magic by Tamora Pierce

As a young girl named Daine, asks Onua Chamtong for a job, a new life begins for her. As she travels with the trader, they are attacked by stormwings, a race of immortals or creatures that can't die unless they are killed. Daine discovers that she possesses wild magic. After a famous magician, Numair Salmalin, explains these things to Daine, a life of adventure begins.

This is an excellent book that I would recommend to anyone who has a love for magic. Now, for any guys who read this, don't shy away from this book just because the main character is a girl. I'm a guy and I read the whole series! Any way, it is filled with action and mystery. After reading this, if you like it of course, you should read the rest of the series. The series is called the Immortals. Well, until next time.

Airborn By Kenneth Oppel

A young man by the name of Matt Cruse, worked on an airship called the Aurora. It was a beautiful ship, where the rich often flew. Then, at the beginning of one trip, he met Kate de Vries. On this trip, everything went wrong. The ship was boarded by pirates, in fact, the most famous pirate of them all, Vikram Szpirglas. The ship crashed on an unknown island. Though, some good things happen also. Matt and Kate discover a new species, and so much more.

This is the most amazing book I have ever set my eyes upon. It's got everything needed to make a wonderful book. Lots of action, some suspense, and even a little bit of romance. This and the 7th Harry Potter, are my all time favorite book. If there was a must read list, this would be either at the top or the second, followed by the sequel, Skybreaker. I would recommend this to anyone one who says they like reading.

Until next time,

The City of Ember by Jeanne Duprau

A young girl named Lina discovers a list of secret instructions to leave her city, Ember. The was consructed so long ago by the Builders, an ancient race of people that built the city of Ember. The city was falling apart. The lights that kept their city from being enshrouded in darkness, were turning off so much more often now. The storerooms that lay below the city, once filled to the brim by the Builders with everything the city might need, were either empty or running dangerously low. Now Lina, and her best friend Doon, team up to decipher the Instructions for Egress, and to find a way out of their dying city.

This book is really good, I would definatly recomend it to any one. It's kind of slow going for a while, but then it starts to get going. Before you know it, there is ation on every page. I hope, if you read it, you enjoy it.

The Elementalists: The Beginning by myself

As seven friends walk to their homes after school, they hear a thunderous boom as seven pods fall from the sky. As their curiosity takes hold of them, they inspect the crash. As they near the pods they open to reveal seven bracelets with colored stones on the top. This is the beginning of a fantastic jounry as Kat, Emily, Jonah, Ben, Caleb, Jacob, and Christian become the warrior heros of the distant planet of Tricepia. For the Jakla, a race of evil serpentile aliens, threaten the people of Earth, it's up to the kids and aid of their Tricepian allies to stop them. But the rest is a mystery, even to myself.
This book is a book I myself am writing, so don't expect it in stores if it sounds interesting. I basicly had an idea for a book, went on my computer and started typing. I'm nowhere near finishing it but, mabey someday, it will be on the shelves for your enjoyment.

The Wierdo by Theodore Taylor

Noticing it was getting dark, she cleaned out a hollow tree trunk and went to sleep. After waking up, she once again went in search of her dog. After a while, she meets a boy by the name of Chip Clewt. He is the son of the nearby spillway's control man, John Clewt. He lives in the swamp and knows it like the back of his hand. He drives Samantha to the nearby store where she calls her mom to pick her up.

This story is about how Chip and Sam try to extend the hunting ban in place on the Powhatan Swamp, now known as the Great Dismal swamp. The problem is, they both live in a community of hunters. This book tells of their fight to help lengthen the ban. This is a great book and I would recommend it to just about everyone. If you reed this, I hope you enjoy it.

Eldest by Christopher Paolini

As Eragon walks over the remains of dwarves, men and many Urgals, his journy has begun. As he begins his training in the home of the ancient elves he encounters many things. Secrets about his past, the mystic powers of the elves are all unveiled. Also, the journies of two groups. One of these groups are led by the brave Roran Stronghammer on a journy for survival and the other is Eragon and Saphira, both on a quest for knowledge. Then, a battle to end all battles where a secret is told that will change will change his life forever. But what's next you ask? You'll have to find out for yourself.

Eragon is an excellent book for readers of any age. Full of action, drama, romance and a lot of other things that make this book absolutely a must read. Of course it is imperative that you read Eragon first otherwise the story won't make sense. It's definitely a page turner and it makes you want to sue Christopher for not yet making the next book.(Yes, there will somewhere in the future be another book.) I would definitely recommend this book to anyone, anywhere.

The Sabatini Prophecy

As a boy named Davey Bohem came home, he was greeted with some very upsetting news. His parents were going to China, and he couldn't come. So they sent him to live with his Aunt Sally and Uncle Bill in a small town in the North Carolina mountains called Great Oak, so named after the magnificent oak tree in the middle of the town's park. As he begins his first mourning in the town of Great Oak, he notices the huge flock of birds sitting on a tree next to his window. Not just one species of bird but many, all chirping away just as if they were greeting him. After that moment, Davey notices many strange things happening all revolving around one spot, the great oak. But what's next you ask? You'll have to find out on your own.

The Sabatini Prophecy is a pretty good book. It has what every good book need. A little bit of action, a dash of adventure, and a pinch of romance. Though, some people may think it's a huge cop-off of Harry Potter, I think it kinda helps to fill the void J.K. Rowling left us all with. If you do read this book and enjoy it, there is a sequel, The Terces Dimension, which should come out some time this year. Also, I would defiantly recommend this book.

The Golden Compass is a great story. It's filled to the brim with loads of action and mystery which really keeps on the edge of your seat. It's all about Lyra's journey after her friend Roger was kidnapped by the Gobblers. Along her journey she carries with her an alethiometer which tells the answer to any question if one knows how to use it. I would defiantly recommend this book to anyone. Surviving the Applewhites by Stephanie Tolan

A bad kid by the name of Jake Semple has been tossed all around. He's been kicked out of every school of Rhode Island and was said to have burned down one. His parents were put behind bars for growing Marijuana in their basement. Along with being kicked out of so many schools, he's also gone to many different foster homes. Now he has ended up with his grandfather in Trayham, North Carolina. In a mere 3 weeks, he's was kicked out of Trayham Middle School. Now he's at the Creative Academy, a home school run by the weirdest family one my ever see, the Applewhites. What happens next? A play perhaps. Mabey lots of singing. You'll have to find on your own.

This story goes through Jake's time with the Applewhites. As he goes along, Jake goes through a metamorphosis from a bad kid to a good one. I wouldn't suggest this book exactly because there are so many better books out there but it's not a bad book. I say this because it's not exactly what I would call interesting until the end. If you want a book suggestion though, Airborne by Kenneth Oppel. It is an awesome book.

Skybreaker by: Kenneth Oppel

Skybreaker is a wonderful book full of action, adventure, and a little bit of romance. It all starts out when Matt Cruse is on the airship Flotsam as assistant navigator for training. He was participating in said training due to his schooling at the esteemed Airship Academy. Well, they had just pulled above the Devil's Fist, an enormous hurricane of the coast of India, when the man at the crow's nest reported seeing another ship. As Matt looks through a spyglass he notices writing on the skin of the airship. Hyperion. Now, the Hyperion is a very famous ship. Thomas Grunel, a very rich inventor, was said to have piled his his life onto this ship and was soon after lost to the sky. This was the same ship Matt had seen.

This is where young Matt's adventure begins. The rest of the story tells of Matt, along with Kate de Veris, his lover, Nadria, a gypsy who holds a key said to open the booby-trapped doors of the Hyperion and Hal, the owner of the Sagarmatha which was used to take them to the treasure filled ship. Along the way they discover mysterious new creatures, new machines, are attacked by pirates, have romance troubles, and so much more. (I don't want to spoil the book for you) I would definitely suggest this book to readers of all ages BUT you must read the first of the two books, Airborne, first. Airborne is one of my all time favorite books. (Seconded only by the seventh Harry Potter book)
